Father’s Day Special: The Men of August Berg Watches / The Men behind August Berg

The third Sunday of June marks a special occasion that is celebrated across the world to honour the contribution of fathers to society. Father’s Day is a time to celebrate the men in our lives – a day to commemorate fatherhood and be thankful for the endless efforts of male parents towards the family.

Celebrating Father’s Day is a way for children to express their appreciation for their fathers and father figures. For adults, this day is a perfect time to show their love and appreciate all the hard work their fathers and husbands have done for them. Mostly, people celebrate this occasion by gifting their fathers something special or treating them somewhere.

At August Berg, the brand’s success is attributed to special men who have contributed their skills and knowledge to provide timepieces that will inspire people to embrace time. Let’s meet them!

The Founder - Anders Peter Juel Sauerberg

The August Berg brand will not emerge without the Founder and CEO, Anders Peter Juel Sauerberg.

In 2004, Anders Peter started the Norbreeze Group to introduce minimalistic yet functional Scandinavian timepieces to Asia. The success of Norbreeze Group imparted more experiences and a deeper understanding of the industry and the region which combined with his knowledge of the European heritage resulted in the creation of August Berg. The August Berg timepieces are designed to inspire and remind wearers to make conscious choices with their time.

The birth of August Berg has something to do with fatherhood. Inspired by his son, Carl August, Anders Peter believes that time is the best gift you can give yourself and the people around you and aims to inspire others to reconnect with what matters to you. Fatherhood has influenced Anders Peter’s perspective on life.

The Designer - Magnus Joergensen

The man behind the designs of the August Berg watches is none other than the renowned designer Magnus Joergensen.

Magnus is an educated Instrument Maker and Industrial Designer backed with a career spanning over 25 years and is well recognized for this clean and minimalist aesthetic. He specializes in functional and aesthetic Danish design and has collaborated with several prominent international brands. Magnus's portfolio includes Creative Director for Rosendahl Design Group on Holmegaard, Arne Jacobsen, and Kay Bojesen brands.

When talking about his latest collaboration, Magnus says "I am excited to have been given the opportunity to create a new design classic for August Berg and not least to share it with the world. August Berg's story and brand ethos resonate positively with me. It sends the timely and important message of making conscious choices with our time, for ourselves and the world around us.”

The Most Celebrated Designer – William Morris

The man who designed the prints of some of August Berg’s best-selling timepieces – William Morris.

William Morris is the most celebrated British designer of the 19th century and is a key figure in the Arts & Crafts Movement. A father of two daughters, Morris produced over 50 wallpaper designs that remained popular even up to the present times, including the famous Strawberry Thief, Pimpernel, Willow Bough, Love Is Enough, and Forest Hare.

To celebrate the elegant craftsmanship of Morris, August Berg's timepieces bring to life his iconic nature motifs through a selection of luxurious yet minimalistic timepieces for both men and women. The unique prints showcased in the watches have captured the interest of William Morris fanatics as well as those who are not very familiar but were captivated by the iconic designs.

The effort and hard work of these three men are proofs that whatever you are passionate about can generate inspiring results – in this case, beautiful timepieces for everyone to appreciate. The importance of a father cannot be ignored and is beyond words as he is the superhero who works tirelessly to support the family and then tries to spend maximum time with his children. Hence, let’s show all fathers great appreciation and honour them this Father’s Day and each day.
