I'll talk about the title later right now let's get into the technical aspect: $279 for the "Serenity Burgundy" watch, $75 for the import fees: was it worth it? honestly idk so far I've had it for like 3 days, if it lasts 10 years+ sure, if it doesn't then nah. My 3DS XL cost me $350 in 2016 and is still running strong to this day, hopefully this watch can do the same.
The title: The box was my biggest concern. The packaging when received was just a plastic one, then you get a gift bag, and inside that is a box, which has another box. The box needs to look much better, I'm not looking to just put this on one time and then put it in my shelf for eternity, even if i am it should look like a nice box, the colors should match, do a different design, it looks really cheap and unprotected. I linked a box that i had lying around, try taking ideas.
The watch itself: This should come with a manual, how it works, how to put it on or off, do's and don'ts; i'm not a watch collector so i had to use YT videos. Color hex codes are really helpful so i'll just copy paste these: the red dial when light hits it: #951F53, the red dial when no light: #340A0C, the mesh strap itself: #9E8D6F, clock hands: #D5BA8D, the bezel: #E0C099
To those who do buy this: the picture is EXACTLY like the original, there's no clickbait lighting or such. I got the mesh strap, lowkey looks gold/very light pink and strong beige. (I'm not complaining, i love it. My central nervous system is more general rather than being intricate about detail (A&P 2 is so peak) so don't take my word, look at the pics.)
Augestberg, fix the box design and the box itself, it looks cheap and doesn't match. But it's a very good watch.
The deep blue watch face and the rosegold frame&hands are a match made in heaven, I dare say. The striking color does require a more thoughtful consideration of my outfit to go with the watch, but the beauty of it is more than worth the effort.
Now that I have seen how good-looking the watch is in person, I will definitely consider getting another one of different color in the future.
I do find myself often looking at the watch to check the date to no avail, but the clean aesthetic justifies the lack of a date indicator.
I love this watch! It's even better than I had pictured from the photos. Simple, dainty, minimalist, elegant. Easy to take off and put back on once you figure out the clasp. Very happy with my watch and definitely recommend.
Only thing of note is the water resistance - you can't wear it in the shower so be careful
I have loved the Strawberry Thief by Morris & Co for many years and was thrilled when I found a watch with this design. The watch itself is lovely. The perlon strap, however, is very stiff and uncomfortable. I have fairly small wrists and there is very little strap extending beyond the clasp - this strap definitely runs on the small side. I truly wish that this watch had interchangeable straps - the metal mesh straps that are available on other August Berg watches would be perfect. If it weren’t for the strap this watch would be a perfect 5 stars.
