The inspiration for the Strawberry Thief originated from his surroundings in William Morris’s garden in the 1880s. As he watched a flock of birds swooped in to steal his strawberries from under the fruit nets at home, the idea sparked.  This instance led to creating the sophisticated masterpiece – Strawberry Thief – featuring strawberries, plants, and birds.
