Marrying the clean lines of August Berg modern vintage timepieces with the ornate and fanciful Morris & Co. motifs, it perfectly balances modern and vintage vibes creating a range of watch staples perfect for everyday wear.

Morris & Co. well-loved flora and fauna designs such as Pimpernel, Strawberry Thief, Bachelors Button and Willow Bough rest on the ideal canvas - a 30mm or 38mm dial featuring four vivid colours Crimson, Fennel, Indigo and Primrose to accentuate the richness of the whimsical collection.

For a more casual look, the watch comes with matching coloured August Berg's signature perlon straps, crafted from intricately woven nylon that is lined with nubuck for comfort and features hidden strap holes for a seamless look.

As for those who prefer something more minimalist, the silver mesh bracelet option is the way to go. With the easy release system, this collection is also highly customizable, allowing you to change up your strap for different occasions.

Make yours extra special by engravings your watch with a personal message on the back casing, making it the perfect gift for you and your loved ones.

Each of these legendary motifs has stood the test of time and proven itself to be a classic statement piece on its own. Behind each of William Morris' beloved works behold a story of its own and here are some of our favourites:

Pimpernel

The print exemplifies how Morris’ interest in Japanese design led to the simplification of lines and colours. Only plants coming from the East or ones that would adapt to eastern styles were chosen. Morris was particularly keen on curved acanthus leaves and climber willow, which he used time and time again as backgrounds. The featured text “Love Is Enough” pays tribute to Morris’ many skills as a writer, poet and typographer. It references a poem of the same title written by Morris about how love can overcome one's most depressing experiences. Read the short poem here.

Strawberry Thief

One of our favourites, and perhaps William Morris's most famous design, the Strawberry Thief, features birds that stand out against the botanical flowers. The inspiration came about as Morris sat in his home kitchen at Kelmscott Manor and watched the birds steal his strawberries from under the fruit nets in his garden.

Bachelors Button

In folklore, cornflowers are known as Bachelor’s Buttons as they were worn by young men in love. Inspired by medieval murals, Morris & Co. painted it in the style of medieval fresco with dramatic effect creating a show-stopping swirling leaf design.

Willow Bough

Morris inspirations were often drawn from nature and plants in his gardens. Willow Bough, on the other hand, was inspired by wildflowers and trees which he had seen on country walks. With the ideas he gathered from the simple woodcut representations in 16th-century herbals books where a willow branch is illustrated, the design was born.

More than a watch brand, August Berg strives to make a positive difference in the lives of others by sharing the gift of time through education. To achieve this mission, August Berg has partnered with the Human Practice Foundation, a Danish not-for-profit organisation dedicated to offering quality education in rural Africa. For every watch sold, together we will give a child in Africa 6 months of quality education, and with every 20,000 watches sold, we will build a school. Everyone who purchases an August Berg timepiece will have your name engraved onto the bricks that would form the foundation of Akadeli Primary School. Let’s work together to build the future generation and change the world, one wrist at a time.
